128th Air Refueling Wing

The 128th Air Refueling Wing is a wing which the 126th Air Refueling Squadron is part of. The 126th ARS flies KC-135R Stratotankers. The KC-135R Stratotanker is an airborne tanker based on the Boeing 347-80 prototype and over time upgraded with parts from the 707. With the most recent variants being built in 1965, it is a very old aircraft but is still used to support USAF and allied operations around the globe. The 126th itself is based from General Mitchell airfield, and has been flying the KC-135 since 1977.


General Mitchell International Airport

Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport is a combination civilian/military airport in Milwaukee. It is named after general Billy Mitchell, a man raised in Milwaukee who went on to become known as the Father of the USAF. It has a B-25 bomber on static display.


Milwaukee Air and Water Show

The Milwaukee Air and Water Show is an air and water show taking place just off the beach (and sometimes on the beach) on the east side of Milwaukee. Various aircraft fly to General Mitchell and then fly from there to participate in the show. There are also boats.
